Will you replace your car with an Uber driver?

Falling new car sales and slumping production figures have prompted experts to warn Uber could be destroying the motor trade.

Figures suggest drivers are shifting towards apps and private hire firms to get around rather than shell out on new vehicles. Experts have warned Uber could be killing off the car market The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed the number of cars rolling off UK factory lines dropped by 10 per cent in May.

At the same time new car registrations have hit the rocks – down by 14 per cent year-on-year.
