Truck aggregators are warming up to the goods and services tax ( GST ) after hiccups slowed business in the first week of its implementation.
Aggregators including Blackbuck, Rivigo and Fr8 said orders have started to pick up again and believe that the new tax structure will have an overall positive impact on the logistics sector, especially since the removal of intercity check posts will reduce travel time.
“The movement had dampened in the initial days, so the faster movement of trucks could also be because of that,“ said Rajesh Yabaji, chief executive of Sands Capital Ventures-backed Blackbuck. “Howe ver, we’ve surveyed the truck owners on our platform and they believe that dismantling of check posts will help them cut one day off their six to seven days’ journey.”
