Ola drivers in Bengaluru Airport beat up supervisor, allege he demands money for parking

A major scuffle broke out between Ola cab drivers and their supervisor at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

According to the International Airport Police, an Ola driver named Mukund, was to enter the P2 designated parking spot for Ola and Uber taxis, at around 1:30 pm.

“According to eyewitness accounts, the Ola Supervisor, Ranjith, did not allow Mukund to enter the parking zone despite space being available. Ranjith is believed to have used foul language while talking to Mukund, which resulted in a physical fight between the two of them,” the police said.

Soon, other Ola drivers at the airport learnt of Ranjit’s ill treatment of the driver and got together and began beating him up.

The International Airport Police arrived at the spot within minutes and began dispersing the mob of drivers.

“They were outraged about one of their drivers being ill-treated by their superior. Ranjith apologised to Mukund and the drivers decided to drop the issue and not register a complaint.
