Just Eat Reveals Spike in Salad & BBQ Orders

The superfood salad is increasingly popular New statistics from Just Eat have revealed that consumers are increasingly ordering with the seasons in mind, with orders for salads up 48% over the last three months, while BBQ food orders have increased by 61%.

The ‘superfood salad’, which includes quinoa, sweet potato, spinach, broccoli and avocado, has increased in popularity by 78% during the period.

The data also highlighted the nation’s ordering habits, with the busiest ordering days of the year so far revealed. New Year’s Day saw a year-on-year increase of 30%, while Monday 20th March after the St Patrick’s weekend saw orders spike by 20%. Saturday is still the most popular day for consumers to order a takeaway, however Monday orders increased by 46% in the second quarter of the year.

Since January of this year, Just Eat has seen a 94% increase in lunchtime orders, adding to the 44% increase in 2016.
