Instacart adds Lowcountry to service area

Instacart, which kicked off in the Midlands in mid-May, delivers purchases made via its website or mobile app to shoppers in 25 Lowcountry ZIP codes, according to a news release. Instacart now offers delivery from Whole Foods Market, Publix, Costco and Petco in the Lowcountry.  The company anticipates hiring up to 100 shoppers in the market.

“We have already started hiring new shoppers in Charleston. Based on the initial interest we’ve seen in the area, we expect to see a high level of demand for our same-day grocery delivery service and fill those positions quickly to accommodate that demand,” spokeswoman Andrea Toch said.

In the Lowcountry, Instacart delivers from Publix , Whole Foods Market , Costco and Petco . Toch said customers who order from Costco do not have to be members of the warehouse store. Subscription to the service costs $149 per year […]
