USAF troops ‘hold rave in Norfolk AirBnB holiday cottage’

Fifty US servicemen took over a holiday cottage for a party More than 50 US airforce troops held a rave in a picturesque converted barn in Norfolk after booking it as a holiday let on AirBnB, it has emerged.

The night ended with the owner being punched, the police being called, the barn damaged and the United States Air Force launching its own inquiry.

It came after Sara Bear innocently accepted a booking for her £85 a night two-bed converted farm building next to her home in the tiny village of Kenninghall, Norfolk.

The booking for last weekend was made by an American servicewoman who claimed she wanted to rent the barn for “a quiet weekend.” for her and her partner.

Mrs Bear, 37, and her husband decided to go out for the evening on Friday to Norwich twenty miles away – but in the early hours of Saturday morning they received an urgent text from a neighbour telling them to return quickly.

When they arrived home at 1.30am, they found the little single-storey barn crammed with more than 50 partygoers, all American servicemen and women, who had brought their own sound system, a smoke machine and disco lights.Mrs Bear asked them to leave […]
