More restaurants deliver take out through UberEats service

The take-out food delivery service has been operating in south county, Everett and Marysville since the first of the year.

For consumers, the service helps on busy days. And many restaurant owners have seen a spike in business, said Uber spokesman Nathan Hambley.

Uber driver William Stephens, 25, of Everett, started working for the company two years ago. For the past year Stephens has taken primarily UberEats jobs.

“For a small fee — $1.99 to $5.99 — depending on their distance from the restaurant, people can get their meals delivered in minutes,” Stephens said. “I deliver to offices, homes, hotels and even the beach.”Seaun Richards, 59, owner of the Red Onion ( www.redonionburgers.com ) on 44th Avenue W. in Mountlake Terrace, can’t say enough good about UberEats.The service has resulted in up to 50 additional orders a day at his hamburger joint, Richards said.
