Gett, the Israeli car-sharing company, and Juno, another Israel-based transport application, announced on Wednesday their merger.

“Excited to announce that Gett and Juno are joining forces in the United States to bring together two companies that treat drivers better,” said Gett on Twitter.

This will allow these two companies to compete with the recently scandalized Uber giant, as well as with Lyft, in the highly competitive transportation market in New York.

The companies did not immediately announce the terms of their agreement, but the TechCrunch information website announced that Gett had paid $ 200 million for Juno, which was launched in New York last year.

Gett raised some $ 640 million, including $ 300 million in investment last year when it entered into a strategic partnership with Volkswagen.
