Airbnb maneuvers to overcome tax concerns

With Airbnb growing rapidly across upstate New York, a dozen county governments have signed agreements that allow the company to collect occupancy taxes on rooms and homes rented out over its web-based platform.

The arrangements are expected to ease the challenges faced by county tax collectors who, without them, had to rely on those offering the rentals to garner and remit the money.
