Taxi, Uber or Lyft: How to get around during Jazz Fest

So you’ve decided you’re not going to drive your own car to Jazz Fest. Here are some other speedy and vehicular ways to get to the Fair Grounds instead. If you are one of the thousands of people who are going to the 2017 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival starting Friday (April 28) now is the time to start thinking about how you are going to get there.

You can bet on heavy crowds flocking to the Fair Grounds Race Course on Gentilly Boulevard where the festival is held over the next two weekends.

Will you be among the drivers determined try to find parking nearby ? Don’t want to take your car, but also not feeling a bus ride ? Not fit enough for a bike ride ?

Don’t worry. You’ve still got some options.

Here are some helpful tips for taking a taxi or summoning an Uber or Lyft to take you to and from the Jazz Fest. If you plan on driving, you need to pay attention to where you park.
